Heading towards a Cure

I have exciting news to share with you all. As you all know, I am what is called a T-10 paraplegic and I have been researching a medical procedure that is being done in Germany. I recently sent all my medical records to have the doctors there review and see if I would be a candidate to receive this treatment. I have been approved for a stem cell treatment at the XCell-Center at the Institute of Regenerative Medicine in the Eduardus Hospital in Cologne Germany where the therapeutically use of autologous adult stem cells treat patients with spinal cord injuries by way of lumbar puncture or by direct implantation of the stem cells in the damaged section of the spinal cord. The Stem Cells are from my own bone marrow which will cause no side effects or rejections. The success rate in patients that have been treated is around two out of three.

For more information about XCell-Center:

20 for 20 - Fund Raiser

My goal is to raise $16,300.00 to pay for the Stem cell medical procedure, hotel and food plus any taxes.

I am requesting your help and asking for a donation of just $20.00 and then if you can ask 20 other people to donate $20.00 each.

Everyone is invited to follow my progress of fund raising and treatment by visiting my website at http://www.anthonychase.org

Thank you for taking time to help me with my

dream to someday walk or improve

the quality of my life.

Hey Everyone,

I have some exciting news to share!

Though I realize that stem cell research will no longer face the draconian restrictions imposed by President Bush, once we have a new President in 2009, I have decided to run for congress after being asked by some influential local democratic party members.

So, please make sure you check out my website:

Thank you so much,

Faye

Very interesting write up you have posted.  Thank you very much for sharing this with our community.  There definitely is hypocrisy in the world we live in.  It is my true intent that one day soon, with the advancements that are being made in stem cell research, there will be a treatment for your son who is paralyzed.  Never give up!...

I don't want to make any trouble with this post but I am curious, how many Republicans (or "right-wingers") on this site are pro-stem cell?

I lean left so I'm predisposed for stem cell R&D, so long as it is ethical and humane.

I'm a cold-climate person.  Not like sub-zero temperatures and 8' of snow person, but cooler weather.  Colorado has a great Fall up until right around Halloween and then comes the snow and the low-hanging sun picking at my eyes.  Then Winter...it's an inconvenience.  But Spring makes up for it.  Summer is good for a month or two, then I'm ready for Fall again.  I think that's one of the reasons I like SF is the weather is perfect, in my opinion.

Cheryl,

Thank You for introducing yourself.  It's great to have you as a member of our social network.  I'm very sorry to hear about your ALS diagnosis.  It is a devastating disease and I am friends with several people who have the disease as well.  They are all incredibly strong people.  Keep fighting!  And yes, you are correct that one of the best ways you can get your voice back is through advocacy.
